About Vertices

Since 1994, Vertices has built tools that make interactive mapping more powerful, intuitive, and affordable.

Our flagship platform Mappler K3 utilizes a variety of web and mobile technologies. From real-time collaboration to flexible data models, K3 has empowered community projects ranging from public-health surveillance in Nashville to environmental mapping in New Jersey.

Everything we learned from K3 now powers Mappler Lite, bringing sheet-synced, federated maps to teams who just want results.

About Dr. Im

Dr. Wansoo Im specializes in participatory mapping using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and has pioneered the use of interactive, web/mobile-based GIS to support community-based participation and research on a wide range of social and environmental issues.

Dr. Im currently serves as a Professor at Meharry Medical College’s School of Global Health, manages the Public Health Exposure Database, and is the Director of the National Center for Community Mapping at Meharry.

In addition, he has conducted research using GIS for the past 30 years with an emphasis on data collection and analysis from distressed environmental areas and inner-city communities. His research has highlighted the power and efficacy of crowdsourcing data, which has the potential to educate, engage, and empower marginalized populations while providing important complements to existing environmental health data.
